In  Chicago the New Orleans jazz and the Dixieland jazz of the professionals from the south found many imitators. In particular young amateurs, mostly pupil and student counted to it. They did not succeed in copying the complicated constructions equally. Hence, a new style was developed; Chicago jazz. The melodies überkreuzen itself, besides, any more, but do not lie in parallel to each other. The single Soli have in contrast to the Kollektivimprovisaton of New Orleans jazz a bigger meaning.
