Free jazz is on the one hand a historical concept for free unbound  Improvisation play in the jazz since the 1960s. On the other hand, it is a paradigm emitting till this day which holds ready the possibility for the free development of newer and newer forms in the jazz. Hence, a stylistic analysis is possible only partly. In the contemporary avant-garde jazz - a later, intellectual variation of the Free jazz - one falls back as a rule on continuous Metren. Besides a form of spontaneous play has opened topically with the free improvisation which gives up, nevertheless, the relations and back connections with the jazz and enters new territory beyond established music types. |
